For a long time, remittances and tourism have been the areas where the diaspora has proven to have a critical impact in Africa. These are the most recognizable ways in which the diaspora relates to Africa. They are not comparable to the experience of day-to-day living in Africa, but as a member of the diaspora that once relocated from my ancestral homeland of Kenya four years ago; I know there are additional ways Africans abroad are making an impact in Africa.

Kenya has a staggering 10 million youth in the active labor force, with a whopping 31.45% either under-employed or completely unemployed. The under-employed, who often work less than 40 hours a week, are desperate to clock in more hours if only the opportunities existed.
Yet, this nationwide struggle for employment pales in comparison to the grim reality faced by the youth in Kakuma.
What most don't immediately realize is that Studio Exakt has been an instrumental partner for the Creative Gateway project right from the start. Since the inception of our project, Studio Exakt has been actively involved, providing invaluable support and guidance not only to the technical team but also to the students themselves.
It's safe to say that our 3D modeling class couldn't have taken off the way it has without the unwavering support of Studio Exakt!
As we stand at the threshold of a brand-new year, the excitement within the Ambitious Africa team is palpable and contagious!
Reflecting on the extraordinary journey we traversed in the past year at our Creative Gateway program, it's impossible not to be filled with pride and enthusiasm.
As a vital member of the Creative Gateway Program media team, Fidele has been instrumental in shaping and amplifying the voice of the Creative Gateway program. His camera is more than just a device; it's a storyteller in a world where people often see refugees as numbers, where life in Kakuma can be tough.
The official launch of the Creative Gateway program was a day characterized by joy, camaraderie, and the promise of brighter tomorrows. Truly, the day’s festivities will be etched in the collective memory of this community for generations to come.
As we look back on this extraordinary event, the journey that led to this grand day was nothing short of extraordinary. The path was filled with hurdles, but with every obstacle overcome, the desire to make a difference only burned brighter.
It's a testament to the indomitable spirit of Kakuma's youth and the unwavering dedication of our partners and supporters.
In a vibrant corner of Kakuma, a new chapter of hope and transformation is being written. Nordic Capital's recent collaboration with Ambitious Africa's Creative Gateway program in Kakuma has begun to illuminate the aspirations of young learners.
